Midtown is the cultural heart of Detroit, a few stops up Woodward from downtown. The Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Historical Museum, the Charles H. Wright Museum, the Michigan Science Center, and the Scarab Club all sit within a few blocks, along with the main library and the Wayne State University campus. The Cass Corridor section to the south is the bohemian end, with bookstores, bars, and the venerable Cass Café.
The food scene has grown sharply since 2010, with Selden Standard, Marrow, and Chartreuse winning national attention. The Q-Line streetcar runs the length of Woodward Avenue and links Midtown to downtown and New Center.
