The Gem Theatre is a small historic theatre near Detroit's downtown stadium district. Its unusual claim to fame is architectural as much as theatrical: the whole building was moved several blocks on wheels when Comerica Park was built, one of the longest relocations of a sizable building.
It is worth a look if you are already walking between Greektown, Foxtown, and the downtown theatres, especially for travelers interested in Detroit's reused and rescued buildings.
