Detroit RiverWalk

Three-mile waterfront promenade along the Detroit River

The RiverWalk is a three-and-a-half-mile promenade along the Detroit River, running from Hart Plaza in the west past the GM Renaissance Center, Cullen Plaza with its carousel, Milliken State Park, and Mt Elliott Park to Gabriel Richard Park near the MacArthur Bridge to Belle Isle. The path is open to walkers, runners, and cyclists, with public art, splash pads, fishing piers, and the view across the river to the Windsor skyline in Canada.

It has been voted the best river walk in the United States in USA Today reader polls. The Dequindre Cut Greenway, a former railroad cut now landscaped and lined with murals, links it inland up to Eastern Market.
