The Colonel Frank Hecker House is a château-style mansion from 1888 on Woodward Avenue in Midtown. Its steep rooflines and French Renaissance details were inspired by the Château de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley.
The building now houses offices, so the visit is mainly about the exterior. It is an easy architecture stop while moving between the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Scarab Club, and the other cultural buildings around Midtown.
