Akshardham

Vast modern Hindu temple complex carved in red sandstone and marble.

Akshardham is a vast Hindu temple complex built by BAPS and opened in 2005. The central monument is carved from red sandstone and marble, with dense decorative work that makes the complex one of Delhi's most visually striking modern religious sites.

Allow enough time for security checks and for the scale of the complex. The temple is especially popular with families and domestic visitors, and it can feel as much like a cultural park as a place of worship.
