Lodhi Colony

A leafy residential neighbourhood in South Delhi, notable for the juxtaposition of British-built colonial housing with the medieval Lodi dynasty tombs scattered through the Lodhi Gardens at its northern edge. The gardens — formally Lodi Garden — contain the 15th-century tombs of the Sayyid and Lodi dynasty rulers, set in 90 acres of landscaped gardens that Delhiites use for morning walks, yoga, and weekend picnics.

The neighbourhood has become increasingly notable for its street art: the Lodhi Art District along Khanna Market Road and the surrounding streets has the largest collection of murals in Asia, commissioned from Indian and international artists since 2015. Khan Market — one of Delhi's most expensive and pleasant shopping enclaves — sits at the northern edge, with good bookshops, cafes, and tailors.
