India International Centre

Premier New Delhi cultural institution hosting lectures, exhibitions, and a members' library

The India International Centre is a landmark cultural institution in New Delhi, founded in 1958 and housed in an elegant modernist building designed by Joseph Allen Stein. The IIC hosts lectures, symposia, exhibitions, performances, and academic conferences that have shaped Indian intellectual life for over six decades. Its terraced gardens and serene restaurant are beloved by Delhi's professional and academic community.

The centre is technically a membership club but opens many of its public events to all. Its annexe art gallery mounts regular exhibitions of Indian and international contemporary art. The attached restaurant serves excellent South Indian food at moderate prices and is popular for a civilised lunch. Located on Max Mueller Marg near Lodhi Gardens, making it natural to combine with a walk through the gardens.
