Lodhi Gardens

Mughal-era tombs in a leafy central Delhi park

Address Lodhi Road, New Delhi

A 90-acre park in the heart of South Delhi containing some of the best-preserved medieval monuments in the city. The tombs of Sayyid and Lodi dynasty rulers — including the 15th-century Bara Gumbad and Shish Gumbad — stand amid lawns, fountains, and mature trees.

Come early in the morning when Delhiites of all ages walk, jog, and do yoga on the paths. The atmosphere is relaxed and the bird life is surprisingly good — peacocks wander freely. It's also a popular spot for photographers and couples in the evenings.

Free entry. Open from sunrise to sunset.
