New Delhi Kali Bari is one of the city's older temples dedicated to Kali, founded in the 1930s near the government quarter. It is especially associated with Delhi's Bengali community, and its Durga Puja celebrations are among the longest-running in the capital.
The temple is a modest stop compared with Delhi's great monuments, but it gives a different texture to New Delhi: devotional, community-based, and still active rather than purely ceremonial.
