Mirza Ghalib Tomb

The tomb of Mirza Ghalib is a modest stop in Nizamuddin, but it carries the weight of one of Urdu and Persian poetry's great names. Ghalib lived through the last decades of Mughal Delhi and the trauma of 1857, and his verses still shape how many people imagine the city.

The tomb stands close to Chausath Khamba and the Nizamuddin dargah, so it works best as part of a slow walk through the basti rather than as a standalone monument. The setting is plain, but for readers of Ghalib it is quietly moving.
