The broad commercial strip along the Ring Road in South Delhi, most notable for Dilli Haat — the open-air crafts bazaar near INA Metro station where artisans from every Indian state sell textiles, jewellery, pottery, and food from stalls that rotate on a monthly basis. It is the best single place in Delhi to buy genuine Indian handicrafts without travelling to multiple markets, and the food court offers regional cuisines rarely found in restaurant form in Delhi.
The adjacent INA Market is the city's best covered fresh-produce market — where South Delhi's domestic workers and serious home cooks buy fish, vegetables, and spices at wholesale prices. The National Museum of India on Janpath, a short distance north, holds the country's finest collection of ancient artefacts — from 5,000-year-old Indus Valley seals to Mughal paintings to Buddhist sculpture from Gandhara.
