Khooni Darwaza is a 15.5-metre stone gateway with a grim place in Delhi's history. It is associated with executions under earlier rulers and with the killing of members of Bahadur Shah Zafar's family after the 1857 uprising.
The upper levels are normally locked, but the gateway is still a worthwhile stop for travellers tracing Delhi's older fortifications and 1857 sites.
