A museum of modern art 20 km south of Copenhagen, designed by Soren Robert Lund to resemble a vast ship stranded on the coast. Opened in 1996, ARKEN focuses on Danish, Scandinavian, and international art from 1945 onwards. The building itself, with its dramatic angular spaces, is as much a reason to visit as the collection.
