Brooklyn Borough Hall was completed in 1851 as the City Hall of the independent City of Brooklyn and served that function until Brooklyn was consolidated into New York City in 1898. The Greek Revival building with its distinctive cupola is a New York City Landmark; the plaza in front hosts one of the better farmers markets in Brooklyn on Tuesdays and Saturdays year-round.
