More than a place, Times Square is an experience — the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue at 42nd Street blazes with enormous digital billboards 24 hours a day. It's genuinely overwhelming and absolutely worth seeing at least once, ideally at night. Come for the spectacle, then head to a Broadway theater; the TKTS booth at the south end sells same-day tickets at steep discounts.
