St. Paul's Chapel

Built in 1776, St. Paul's Chapel is Manhattan's oldest public building in continuous use and the only surviving colonial-era church in New York City. George Washington worshipped here after his inauguration, and the chapel later became known as a refuge for recovery workers after the September 11 attacks.
