Flatiron Building

The Flatiron Building is one of New York's defining early skyscrapers, squeezed into its famous triangular site where Broadway cuts across Fifth Avenue. Completed in 1902, it helped give the surrounding district its name and remains one of Manhattan's easiest buildings to recognise.

You cannot visit it like a museum, but you do not need to. The stop is the view from the surrounding streets and plazas, where the building's narrow prow still looks theatrical against the avenue traffic.
