Dyckman Farmhouse is a rare survivor from rural northern Manhattan, built when the Dyckman family owned farmland across much of present-day Inwood and Washington Heights. The house is now a small museum of early Manhattan life, with period rooms and a yard that includes reconstructed Hessian huts linked to the Revolutionary War occupation of the island.
