Brooklyn Bridge Park runs for 1.3 miles along the Brooklyn waterfront from Atlantic Avenue north through DUMBO, reclaiming former commercial piers as public green space. The park has lawns, sports courts, kayak launches, a restored 1922 Venetian carousel (Jane's Carousel) and consistently excellent views of Lower Manhattan. Pier 1 has the best vantage point for the Brooklyn Bridge. The park is busiest on summer weekend afternoons.
