Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is a major branch of the New York Public Library and one of Harlem's key cultural institutions. Its collections focus on Black history, literature, art, and politics, and public exhibitions draw on that archive.

Even visitors who are not doing research should check the current exhibition schedule. The centre is close to other Harlem landmarks and adds depth to a walk along Malcolm X Boulevard and 135th Street.
