☰Bronx Zoo

The largest metropolitan zoo in the United States, with 265 acres and over 4,000 animals. The indoor Jungle World habitat — a recreated Asian rainforest complete with gibbons, hornbills, and langurs — is genuinely impressive, as is the Congo Gorilla Forest. Go on a weekday in spring or fall to avoid the worst of the crowds.
