Built in 1846 in the Gothic Revival style, Trinity Church was the tallest building in New York City when it was completed. It stands at the head of Wall Street and its churchyard contains the graves of Alexander Hamilton, Robert Fulton, and other figures from the founding era of the United States. Free to enter, and the contrast between this quiet stone church and the surrounding financial district is striking.
