Gongqing Forest Park is a large green escape in Yangpu, far from the densest parts of central Shanghai. It combines wooded walking areas with family attractions such as a miniature train, boats, mini-golf, bumper cars, and small rides.
It is not a formal garden like Yu Garden, but it is useful for a slower day outdoors, especially with children or if you are staying in the northeast of the city.
