Guangqi Park is built around the tomb of Xu Guangqi, the Ming scholar, scientist, and Catholic convert whose name lives on in Xujiahui. The restored tomb combines a Christian cross with a traditional Chinese spirit way, giving the small park an unusual mix of symbols.
The free memorial hall in the southwest corner explains Xu's work and legacy in a traditional house. It is a useful stop if you are exploring Xujiahui or the western edge of the old French Concession.
