Tanyuan is a reconstructed classical garden in Jiading, once associated with the Ming-dynasty scholar and artist Li Liufang. It is a quiet place for pavilions, planted courtyards, and a glimpse of the literary garden culture that sat outside the old centre of Shanghai.
