A large hands-on science museum at Century Avenue in the outer Lujiazui/Zhangjiang area, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is oriented toward family visitors with interactive exhibits on biology, physics, technology, earth science, and space exploration. The IMAX theatre complex within the building runs multiple shows daily.
The museum is well-funded and the exhibits are more current and interactive than the older-generation museum infrastructure in central Shanghai.
