Ferguson Lane — the former name of the Wukang Road area — is a complex of late 1920s buildings around a courtyard that has been converted to an upscale restaurant and café cluster. The physical environment is some of the best-preserved pre-war institutional architecture in the former French Concession: a coherent group of buildings with intact facades and courtyard spaces.
The restaurants here are expensive and tend toward European cuisine; the courtyard is pleasant for a coffee or drink in good weather. The surrounding Wukang Road blocks have the most consistently photographed architectural streetscape in the French Concession. Metro Hengshan Road.
