Allenby Street

Allenby Street is one of the oldest commercial streets in Tel Aviv, running diagonally from the seafront at Hassan Bek down to the corner of Rothschild and Herzl. The street is in slow rolling redevelopment — once the city's main retail spine, then a long stretch of faded shopfronts, and now a corridor of bars, music venues, and small late-night kitchens.

It is the centre of the city's late-night drinking and dancing scene. Walk it during the day for the older architecture (the eclectic 1920s style of the Great Synagogue corner) and after midnight for the bars.
