Hilton Beach is the long sandy beach below the Hilton Hotel at the northern end of the central seafront. It is unofficially the city's gay beach (the southern third) and the dog beach (early morning and after sunset, the northern third), and it has the most consistent surfing waves of the central beaches.
A small surf school and board rental operates from the lifeguard tower in summer. The beach is busiest from late afternoon onwards, when the office workers spill out to the water before sunset.
