Trumpeldor Cemetery

Tel Aviv's original cemetery, with graves of early Zionist leaders and writers

Trumpeldor Cemetery is Tel Aviv's first cemetery and one of the city's most compact history lessons. Among the graves are early Zionist politicians, writers, and cultural figures, including Meir Dizengoff, Moshe Sharett, Hayim Nahman Bialik, and Ahad Ha'am.

The most famous graves are clustered toward the western end. Some Hebrew helps, but the atmosphere and names still make it a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in modern Israel's early decades.
