Charles Clore Park is the long thin strip of grass between the southern Tel Aviv beach and the Hassan Bek Mosque, named for a British-Jewish philanthropist who donated the funds for its creation. It is the easiest place to have a picnic by the sea in the city — wide lawns, mature trees, and a long shaded promenade.
The park is busiest on Friday afternoons when families gather for barbecues, and is the venue for several of the city's summer outdoor concerts.
