The Asahi Group Oyamazaki Villa Art Museum occupies a Gothic-Tudor villa built for businessman Shotaro Kaga and now displays Taisho-era art, craft, and selected modern works. A later annex by Tadao Ando adds a sharp architectural contrast, including space for Monet works. The museum is a worthwhile Kyoto-area side trip for visitors interested in art, architecture, and early 20th-century design.
