Myoman-ji

Myoman-ji is a quieter Kyoto temple with an unusual feature: a replica of Bodh Gaya's Mahabodhi Temple, the place where the Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. The rest of the complex is more traditionally Japanese, with temple halls, artwork, and a garden.

Its northern location means it is usually calmer than Kyoto's headline temples. It works best if you are already exploring the northern edge of the city, especially around Kamigamo or the Kurama and Kibune route.
